Hello Friend–CTD #336

CTD336_2015apr1

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown! This week Wanda is our host and she has picked a palette of earthy colors for us to play with this week.

swatch 336

I started with a Primitive White card stock base card. I’ll admit it, I had trouble thinking of anything except fall leaves with this color combo but I tried really hard to not go there, LOL! So, I brought out Desert Bouquet and created my background paper with Brick Red dye ink, Daffodil dye ink, Orange Zest dye ink, Limelight dye ink, and Sour Apple dye ink. I added little trios of black dots with a fine point marker to tie it in with the other black elements. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder and added that and some strips of Primitive White card stock stamped with Black Licorice dye ink and Striped Backgrounds. The stamped panel was popped up on foam mounting tape. Next I cut a LJD Blissful Butterflies die from Daffodil card stock and stamped it with the coordinating image from LJD Blissful Butterflies and popped it up on foam. Under it is a LJD Scribbles Die-namics cut from Primitive White card stock stamped with Black Licorice dye ink and Fine Chevron Background. It looks like baker’s twine! And I love it!! To otherwise finish if off, I added some enamel dots.

Another sentiment from LJD Fall Foliage was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink,

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD336 and please use #ctd336 and #colorthrowdown for social media sites so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented April Guest Designer, Karen Giron and our Guest Star Stamper for this week, Tobi Crawford!
